Women's Community House: Dining to Make a Difference
Women's Community House: Dining to Make a Difference

November 23, 2007.

Women's Community House in London, Ontario hosted "Dining to Make a Difference," a fundraising event for the centre at Loblaw, Masonville. The Community House is committed to ending female abuse and its impact on families, and in providing safe places and services for abused women and their children.

ACE Bakery's co-founder and cookbook author, Linda Haynes, was invited to demonstrate her savvy chef skills with a focus on easy holiday entertaining. Not surprisingly, there was a great turn out of about 50 people who enjoyed samples of Linda's creations. Linda made the flavourful Roman Artichoke Crostini, Grilled Shrimp & Avocado Butter Crostini, beautiful Lacy Parmigiano Crisps, and the Baguette Flatbread. She finished on a sweet note with Patty's Oatmeal Shortbread and Gingered Limeade.

Linda's cookbook, More from ACE Bakery, was sold at the event. All of the author's royalties from the sale of the cookbook are donated to organizations like the Women's Community House that support women and children in crisis. The event was warm, welcoming, and palate-satisfying for all!
