ACE KICKS OFF THE HOLIDAY SEASON WITH NEW BAGUETTE AT MEIJER

December 02, 2005.

ACE Bakery starts the holiday season off with a new 12-inch Multigrain Demi-Baguette, available at all Meijer stores.

"Multigrain is a healthy alternative, and the demi size is perfect for sandwiches or as an alternative to dinner rolls over the holidays," says Linda Haynes, co-founder of ACE Bakery. "We make our multigrain with several different grains and seeds and just a hint of honey, resulting in a rich, flavorful bread that is all natural and has absolutely no preservatives," explains Ms. Haynes.

The new ACE Multigrain Demi-Baguette is available in all Meijer stores in Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky for $1.59. The new variety complements the existing ACE White Baguette and White Demi-Baguette currently available at Meijer. Select Meijer stores also carry the ACE Bakery variety breads, such as Olive, Cranberry Focaccia, and Organic Granary.

"In response to consumers' requests for smaller portions, and for the growing number of households without children, a smaller baguette was developed for select markets. The Multigrain Demi-Baguette is excellent as a sandwich bread, or simply sliced and served with dinner as an alternative to a dinner roll," adds Linda.

One of North America's leading artisan bakeries, ACE Bakery's famous baguettes and artisan breads are available at hundreds of restaurants, hotels, caterers, grocery, and gourmet food shops across Canada, New York State, the Midwest U.S.A. and the Bahamas. ACE Bakery opened in 1993 as an artisan bakery creating hand-made, European-style rustic breads. The gentle shaping of each loaf, long fermentation periods, and a stone deck oven all work to create exceptionally flavorful products with a light, airy texture and crisp golden crust. In keeping with ACE's high quality standards, the new bread contains no added preservatives and is made using only the finest ingredients.

Community involvement is an essential part of ACE's philosophy. The company donates a percentage of its net profits to charitable organizations in the principal centers where ACE breads are sold. ACE's focus is on food and nutrition programs that assist low-income members of the community, financing culinary scholarships, and supporting organic farming initiatives.
