ACE BAKERY BRINGS HOME-BAKED BREADS TO QUEBEC
ACE BAKERY BRINGS HOME-BAKED BREADS TO QUEBEC

December 02, 2005.

Montreal shoppers and bread lovers alike are toasting ACE Bakery's new Bake Your Own breads, now available as part of the Toronto and Montreal-area Costco road shows. Costco will feature ACE initially in three Montreal-area locations starting November 22nd: Anjou from November 22 to December 4; Terrebonne from December 6 to December 18; and St-Jerome December 20 to December 31st.

"The Quebec market is ideal for the ACE Bakery baguette, where European traditions are a strong part of the culture" says Linda Haynes, owner of ACE Bakery. "And the Demi-Baguette size lends itself well to today's consumer needs", she adds.

"Consumers at Costco look for the ability to stock up the freezer, whether its for home or the chalet, so the new breads are a perfect fit. Consumers can now have fresh, hot bread, any day of the week, in the convenience of their own home", explains Ms. Haynes.

In response to consumer demand, ACE introduced four new Bake Your Own breads at Costco in a demi-baguette size: White, Multigrain, Raisin Walnut and Olive. The breads are partially baked, then flash frozen to naturally preserve their quality and freshness.

Consumers then finish the baking process in the convenience of their home, any time they want. Baking time averages 15 minutes with an additional rest period to allow for the best flavour and texture. The Bake Your Own breads are available at select Toronto-area Costco stores and are now available in Montreal starting November 22nd.

"Whether you're at home or at the chalet, there's nothing better than the smell of fresh bread baking in the oven. The Bake Your Own breads are so versatile for rounding out your dinner or making appetizers such as bruschetta. When last minute dinner guests arrive; you can just pop them in the oven and you're ready to go in minutes", says Ms. Haynes.

One of North America's leading artisan bakeries, ACE Bakery's famous baguettes and artisan breads are available at hundreds of restaurants, hotels, caterers, grocery, and gourmet food shops across Canada, New York State, the Midwest U.S.A, and as far as the Bahamas. ACE Bakery opened in 1993 as an artisan bakery creating hand-made, European-style rustic breads. The gentle shaping of each loaf, long fermentation periods, and a stone deck oven all work to create exceptionally flavourful products with a light airy texture and crisp golden crust. In keeping with ACE's high quality standards, the new breads contain no added preservatives and are made using only the finest ingredients.

Community involvement is an essential part of ACE's philosophy. The company donates a percentage of its pre-tax profits to charitable organizations in the principal centres where ACE breads are sold. ACE's focus is on food and nutrition programs that assist low-income members of the community, financing culinary scholarships, and supporting organic farming initiatives.
